If you have configured a Linksys Router, but see that the device is not connecting to the internet, first, ensure that all the cables are properly connected to the router and your modem. Secondly, if you are using a wired connection, ensure that the Ethernet cable connecting the router and the modem as well as the router and your computer has no physical damages. If there’s any, you must replace the cable with a new one.
Another reason which often triggers issues while connecting a Linksys Router to the internet is using an incorrect WiFi password. If you have lost or forgotten the WiFi password of your Linksys Router, you can log into the admin console of the router and check for the password. You can also change the password if required. Follow the below-mentioned steps to check what the WiFi password of your Linksys Router is:
Connect the router to a computer either wirelessly or using an Ethernet cable.
To resolve issues like Linksys Router no internet, open a web browser on the computer.
Type 192.168.1.1 in the browser’s address bar and press Enter to open the router login page.
Enter the router login credentials in the blank fields, and click on ‘Login’ to log into the router admin console.
Click on the ‘Wireless’ tab and then on the “Show Wireless Network Key” option to see the existing WiFi password.
In case you want to change the WiFi password, enter the new password in the required field, and enter it again to confirm.
Click on ‘Apply’ to save the changes.
After changing the wireless password of the router, if you encounter other issues like Linksys parental controls not working, Linksys smart WiFi not working, Linksys Router IP not working, Linksys Router not working wireless, etc., then, reset the router. It is recommended that you note down the existing router configuration on a notepad so that you can refer to them while reconfiguring the router.
